David wrote this psalm. He said God was his light. A light helps you see where to walk. He said God was his salvation. That means God saves him. He said God was his stronghold. A stronghold is a tall, safe place, like a rock tower. Nothing can knock it down.
So David asked, "Whom shall I fear?" He was not brave because he was big. He was brave because God was with him. God was his safe place.
You can be brave too. Being brave does not mean you never feel nervous. It means you say "God is with me," and then you do the small thing anyway. Maybe you answer a question out loud. Maybe you try one push on the bike with no training wheels.
Try one small brave thing today. Say "God is with me" first.

Ananya had one line in the class play. She read it at her desk in a whisper. "The sun is up." Her teacher said, "Say it louder tomorrow."
At home, Ananya practised in front of Priya. Her voice came out small. Priya smiled and said, "Try again." Ananya tried three more times. Each time her voice grew a little stronger.
The next morning, Ananya stood on the stage. Her hands shook. She held her tin pencil case tight. Then she whispered, "God is with me." After that she said her line. "The sun is up!" Her voice filled the hall. Emma Yeo clapped from the front row.
Ananya sat down. Her heart was still bumping. But her line was said.
