Moses said these words to God's people long ago. They were about to do something new and scary. They had to cross a river and live in a new land. Moses said, "Be strong and courageous." He did not say "be brave because you are big." He said be brave because God goes with you.
God does not leave you. When you feel nervous, you can remember that. God is with you in the classroom. God is with you on the playground. God is with you when you try something new.
You can do one small brave thing today. Maybe you can answer a question out loud. Maybe you can say hello to a new friend. Before you do it, say quietly, "God is with me." Then try it. God is right there with you.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Today's Story
✍️Fictitious Story
Emma's class was putting on a play about a garden. Emma had one line. She practiced it in the mirror at home. "The seeds are sleeping," she whispered.
On the morning of the play, Mama braided her hair. Emma's stomach felt tight. "I'm scared I'll forget," she said.
Mama tied the braid with a pink band. "Say it to me now," she said.
Emma said it. Her voice was small but clear.
At school, when it was her turn, Emma touched the frangipani flowers in her pocket. She took a breath and said, "God is with me." Then she said her line loud enough for everyone to hear. Her teacher smiled.
