Proverbs 17:6 says, "Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children."
Let's look at that slowly. Grandchildren are like a crown for older people. A crown sits on top of a king's head. It is special and bright. In the same way, grandparents feel glad when they spend time with children.
The second half says parents are the pride of their children. That means children can look at their mum and dad and feel happy. Lucas felt happy reading with Grandpa Arthur and with Dad. That is exactly what this verse describes.
God made families. He gave us people who love us and care for us every day. Reading a story, eating dinner, folding clothes together, or holding hands across the street are small moments. But they are gifts from God.
So today, notice one family moment and say thank you to God for it. Then give someone in your family a hug.

Lucas Yeo sat on the floor while Grandpa Arthur read him a story. Arthur's voice was slow and warm. Lucas tapped the buttons on Grandpa's watch and laughed.
Then Dad came in. It was bedtime. Dad read the last page and tucked Lucas in. "I like story time with you," Lucas said. Dad smiled.
Later, Lucas thought about Grandpa's smile and Dad's smile. They both looked happy. He hugged his wooden bus and fell asleep.
